| 2. Establishing an Environmental Management System |
| 1) |
We request that suppliers implement an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and JIS Q 14001. |

NIDEC SANKYO will provide all required cooperation in this effort. |
3. Product lifecycle considerations |
| 1) |
We urge suppliers to consider the burden imposed on diverse environments at all stages of a product's lifecycle, from resource extraction to disposal. |
| 2) |
We urge suppliers to consider the environmental protection activities of manufacturers and vendors in their own procurement. |
4. Product Assessment |

We request that suppliers establish and implement product assessment rules in accordance with the following guidelines: |

Elimination or control of environmental pollutants |
|
a. |
Refrain from the use of products, parts or materials prohibited by law or regulation, such as PCBs. |
|
b. |
Endeavor to reduce the use and release of substances that are harmful to the environment or to human health. |
|
c. |
Control and reduce the utilization of chemical substances in your company's products, parts and materials, and in your manufacturing processes. |

Conservation of resources and energy |

a. |
Work toward reduced consumption of resources and energy in products and components, while making them smaller and lighter. |
|
b. |
Endeavor to reduce energy (electricity, biofuels, etc.) consumed in manufacturing processes, and to reduce both the energy consumed in the operation of products and parts and standby power consumption. |

c. |
To the greatest extent possible, reduce the variety of materials used in manufacturing, and standardize them. |

Sustainable resource extraction |

Endeavor to reduce energy (electricity, biofuels, etc.) consumed in manufacturing processes, and to reduce both the energy consumed in the operation of products and parts and standby power consumption. |

Long-term use |

Incorporate long-term use as a consideration in product design and manufacturing. |

Reuse |

5. Information Disclosure |

NIDEC SANKYO will comply to the maximum possible extent with requests for the disclosure of environmental information. |
6. Scope of Applicability |

These guidelines are applicable to all finished goods, parts and materials procured by NIDEC SANKYO. |
7. Revisions |
|
These guidelines will be modified as mandated by changes in social conditions, technological progress and advances in knowledge. |
