Toward the development of environmentally friendly products
As an important theme in the preservation of the environment and the realization of a recycling-oriented society, NIDEC SANKYO is working to reduce the environmental impact of its operations from the product development stage forward. This effort includes suppliers as well as every division and department within the Company.
Toward the development of environmentally friendly products
An environmentally conscious design system utilizing IT.
Design activities are the headwaters of manufacturing, and since 1989 NIDEC SANKYO has been working to improve productivity through the establishment and use of a product data management (PDM) design-support system. This system is supported by three pillars: (1) improving productivity through the standardization of design and the reuse of materials, (2) improving quality through structured design and the establishment of procedures, and (3) the use of CAD simulations.
At this point in history, environmental protection is an increasingly important corporate duty, and NIDEC SANKYO has designated environmental protection and environmental management as important priorities for the Company as a whole.
NIDEC SANKYO has built an environmental information management system (EIMS) linking data on environmentally aware selection of parts and materials, information on environmental laws and regulations, and other pertinent data to its PDM design-support system, which is utilized from the product design stage forward.
This environmental information management system (EIMS) has become an "Environmentally conscious product development support system," providing environmental information that the entire Company can use from a product's design stage forward, allowing NIDEC SANKYO to realize the development of environmentally friendly products. Hydroelectric equipment
This compact generator unit uses the energy of flowing water to operate sensors and electric valves. Hydroelectricity is stored in batteries, and the outlet valve is operated by passing the hand over the sensor in the outlet.
