NIDEC SANKYO continually strives to make global environmental protection one of its most important management issues, reduce the environmental impact of its business activities, and contribute to the building of a society concerned with the prevention of environmental pollution.

Born amidst the natural beauty of Nagano Prefecture, NIDEC SANKYO strives protect the environment as it develops and manufactures audiovisual and home appliance equipment, communications and peripheral computer equipment, industrial machinery and equipment, musical movements and other products. Each employee is actively involved in activities to reduce the environmental impact of our activities. In step with our environmental policy, we will:

1.	Develop environmentally friendly products and technologies.
a)	Concern resource conservation, energy conservation and recyclability at the development stage.
b)	Reduce waste from the packaging of our parts and products.
2.	Build environmentally sensitive manufacturing systems.
a)	Carefully handle, eliminate or find substitutes for controlled chemical substances.
b)	Practice energy conservation and the efficient use of resources on our production lines.
3.	Move forward with environmental protection activities that thoroughly consider the environmental impact of our operations.
a)	Strictly observe environmental laws and regulations with regard to other effective environmental practices, and establish and observe voluntary standards.
b)	Reduce waste and practice recycling.
4.	Continuously improve and strengthen our environmental management systems.
a)	Heighten awareness of environmental protection activities through environmental education and information activities.
b)	Maintain and improve our environmental management systems through internal environmental audits.
5.	Cooperate with affiliated firms, and the local governments and citizens' groups wherever we have operations.
a)	Urge affiliated firms to adopt congruent environmental policies and to cooperate.
b)	Work with the citizens of surrounding areas to heighten environmental awareness.
